Any "Latest & Greatest" about Endeavor?
That's a symptom a changing books. Going to the Delta way is quirky on a 900 when you don't have autothrottles and vnav, though it appears we've made enough modifications that we're able to sort of fly it now how the book demands. We could always increase line checks and feedback for new guys, it would probably clean me up a bit too.
I don't think he's saying russ didnt say it, he's saying Russ can't say the future because Edv doesnt control its destiny. If Skywest decides they want xjt around for another couple years Delta would drop everything tomorrow to make it happen.
95% of what RE says is well meaning, thats a fact. The 200s didnt leave, the 175s and 700s didn't come, the EtD wasn't a great success, pilots didn't stop leaving for PSA once Guum explains how good we had it, money WAS what pilots needed to come chance employment with EDV.
Some of that stuff RE meant, some he was told to say. The 200s will be here if oil stays down, when it goes up the 200s will evaporate.

My main point is to say that the LCPs need standardization. There's a simple process that should be adopted in conditioning new pilots to line operations. Not having one LCP cram a newb with eons of information and then the next LCP adding something completely different. I say standardization must be exhibited by the cadre of LCPs and then line ops would also follow suit, in theory.
About line check blitzes. I am such a proponent to safe operating. I'm all for it. I also like when LCPs are knit-picky (phonetic) and point out small things that are correctable. It's commendable when the crew only has that to be corrected on.
Finally, I have received reports that we have a few probationary pilots that are on like their 3rd or even 4th missed trip and even a couple of Section 19s. Call me mean, but I say get rid of them. What sayeth though about the matter?

Depends on the reason(s) for each individual. (Or excuse, if that be the case). But in my first year, I never had a missed trip, and only called in sick one time. Couldn't clear sinuses for about 8 days.
Dunno what a section 19 is.

I agree, it depends on the individual case even though 4 or even 3 mis trips for a probationary guy seems pretty high. Commuting does suck and daddy D doesn't make it better by overbooking flights or retirees going ahead of us in some cases. I'm kind of interested in why that's going on though.
