Thanks very much this is very helpful.

I'd rather be bluntly honest than sell the guy Kool aid.
Green Needles, you make is sound like I would be stuck in NYC forever. In your opinion, how long would you guess getting ATL would be? If it takes a little over a year to upgrade, doesn't that mean you'd be halfway up the FO line in about a half a year? How bad is it commuting? How many days could I expect to be home? How many "commutable" lines are there? Any tricks to be home more?

Yes it makes sense with an upgrade i'd be back in NYC..but with more days off correct? I suppose that would mean being back on reserve for a while.

I'd be leaving a higher paying corporate/charter gig to come here, but being on call 24/7, hardly knowing any days off in advance, no job security (can sell the plane any time), combined with being home 10 days a month (yes I know initially I would be home even less) makes this look attractive in comparison.

As far as job progression, having time in a larger aircraft (compared to corporate) I think is invaluable experience to be gained. I think it is very hard for the majors to consider you without that kind of experience or military time.

I'm facing either being stuck in corporate forever or taking this chance to get into something different, and by all accounts it looks like there's never been a better time to go to the regionals. These kind of pay scales and upgrade times were unheard of only a few years ago. Do you disagree with that?

Expect to be in NYC at least one vacancy. You "may" get it out of training. It all depends when you go through. Commuting is rough especially if it's in and out of ATL. That place just blows to try and get on a flight to almost anywhere.

Hey, man, for what it's worth, I'm going to Endeavor because of Atlanta. I'm hoping I get it right away (I start in June), but we shall see. The pay, coupled with my military retirement, is doable.

And, yes...I'm 20 years of mil flying and haven't gotten a call for a legacy yet. I did interview with SWA, but not hired.

Are we ignoring the fact people currently in ground school have already bid out of NYC? MSP and DTW went to some very junior pilots on property.

Or we can just play mass hysterics...

Exactly. Someone who hasn't even started the sims was awarded MSP 200

>Start in June

What's your class date? If I get the job offer I might be seeing you there. Someone else said they have class dates every two weeks..does this sound right? I don't know if I should take drastic measures to try to get an interview this month (I'm flying all month basically) or if beginning of June for an interview would be ok.

June classes are 5th and 19th. They're doing two a month, yes. I interviewed a few months back, and the most immediate classes were full, but I could have started about 3 classes out. If I had to guess, I'd bet June is full, but July would be open. I don't have any inside information, though, so don't quote me.

Sims are in MSP, but SOME people who get the 200 go to Phoenix. If you do that, you also get some per diem.
