I'm okay with the pay rate if sick and vacation get addressed. How about if our vacation days actually equal full days? So 7 days of vacation actually make a Reserve have 18 days off vs 11. I mean if those changes are made, if sick time acrues faster than a leaky faucet, and our 401k can actually see some hefty matching I think we come out ahead.

Also, by getting a pay rate we set ourselves up to be on the same playing field as the AA WO's to start a pay rate price war for the "best pay." I think this contract is better than we expect.

Really should be NO sick time, sick time and vacation should be rolled together into paid time off.

Next time they're together, I'll make sure she jumps off right before he finishes. While he's complaining about blue balls, she can point out how he'll just have to deal with it cause it wasn't really sex, only "temporary intercourse"

So bring this back to my first question, is it really DALPA that's standing in the way of a flow, or is it company culture?
No, the union doesn't do the hiring, however, there are contractual provisions to provide furlough protection in the event the mainline furloughs. Thus, you at an AA WO are subject to displacement if AA furloughs pilots to your WO. The reciprocal agreement is a flow up provision when AA is hiring.

The retention bonus into the pay rates would be great to cement a new standard which our competitors will have to come up to. Like some of you mentioned earlier, it'll be a "pay war" or whatever. Potentially in 2 years we could find ourselves in the middle of the pack again and then Delta gives us another pay raise when our recruitment numbers are not what they want. I wouldn't be surprised if another regional starts offering $60+ first year FO pay 2 years from now.

PSA has no such "flow down" provision for AA pilots in our agreement. It is only a "flow up".

Wasn't really a question about flow down, and my friend above is right that there is no flow down in effect at PSA. In any event, given the number of retirements AA has Armageddon would literally have to happen for AA to furlough.

My question was more about what the heck does DALPA have to do with a flow up? The company apparently can hire whom they choose.

My only answer would be to read the APA contract. Supplement W

Just like last month... a bonus IS pay. I have a pay stub to prove it. It pays my bills. The bonus can go away, I get that part of your argument. But it's still pay.

Bad argument.

I think the DALPA CBA says 35% of new hires have to be from ALPA DCI carriers.
