Anyone know why we lost the Holiday inn Express in DSM? I liked that place. You could walk or get a ride to a bunch of food, and the hotel was new and clean. Could walk to an imax theatre or downtown.

What was wrong with this place?

"We can say that, in reference to DSM, we are in final stages of selecting a new hotel, which we believe will result in a much higher level of pilot satisfaction."

$3 per night rate increase. Contract was up and the company/API refused to accept a rate increase to renew the contract.

Shoutout to all the people who put in positive comments for it... came up in the Chief Pilot Newsletter as one of the most complimented hotels, so at least we tried.

The comment in the union email was referencing the new hotel, which was apparently awful...in a worse part of downtown not near food and right next to a hospital.

The new new hotel (selected due to all the negative feedback with the new hotel) is in West Des Moines and looks good and also walking distance to new food options and I imagine the shuttle will Take you to the mall since it’s on the way to the airport.

Probably a flight attendant got the one and only room without a fridge and microwave and complained. And then mentioned how there are hotels that are 45 seconds away and not a 15 minute drive

One day I'll work at an airline where we don't stay with FAs. Maybe.

You know, I thought I saw that in 25.k.i of the JCBA. Now that I read it again, that's totally not the point of that paragraph. My bad.

On average, any flexibility in the reserve grid for folks on the 900 in NYC in the left seat?

You can pick up flying, or you can be happy with min days off :P

That describes every reserve in the company...and every line holder other than the min days off part.... There is very very little flexibility in schedules once awarded other than if you want to pick up and its FAR legal, have at it.
