That gate agent was wrong. We go before all other DCI on mainline jumpseats regardless of check in time

Regardless of how wrong the gate agent is, how much can you really do at 15 min prior to push with no red coat on hand to correct the agent. Had it happen to me last December out of Atlanta. Gate agent gave the JS to an AA pilot with me and another DCI pilot listed (not to mention it was a 2 x JS A320). Not the time or place to act like an a**. All you can do is get it corrected after the fact.

Some gate agents think Delta Mainline Pilots have priority on everything. I’ve had it happen many times when I’m trying to list for our Jumpseat. They say there’s already a pilot listed, and he’s mainline. I say, well I have priority on Endeavor flights. They then look at me like a deer in headlights. Then I have to suggest to them that they list me, and it should prioritize the list correctly. Ugh, frustrating at times. Also, it won’t prioritize correctly if they already have assigned the Jumpseat to mainline. Had to have a red coat fix that by removing him and then relisting him. They’re not supposed to assign it until 15 prior

All of this is correct. And to add to my comment above, I didn’t get my panties in a bunch because there have been a couple of times when the agent has “hooked me up” by issuing my JS pass and letting me board outside the 15 minute window. Once, as I was walking thru the door, I could hear the DL CA (who had just walked up to the counter as I was getting scanned) complaining to the gate agent that he should have priority over OAL pilots. I paused halfway down the jetbridge, thinking I would get called back, but the agent came down a minute or so later and waved me on down to the plane. Sometimes you get to be the windshield.

Best case is if you can speak with the captain. The OAL jumpseater SHOULD also be willing to point it out to the captain as well. The captain will fix it if he finds out about it. In your case, was the other jumpseat allowed to go empty?

That's a good way to lose jumpseat privileges, especially admitting that you knew what was happening. At 15 minutes it's yours, outside of that (as much as it stinks when someone not previously listed walks up) it's not. You do not want to be known as the guy bragging about getting the jumpseat when he wasn't supposed to.

Hey good for you man, admittedly scamming pilots out of the js on their own metal because gate agent didn’t have the competence to rectify the situation. What a big man, so happy for you. This is exactly the type of unprofessional nonsense I’m talking about. I just don’t get it. Have your balls not dropped yet or did mommy swaddle you for 18 years and not teach you how to be a big boy and do the right thing? Guess I shouldn’t expect anymore from you considering all you do is post on here regularly.

To the last poster inquiring about the new hire, my post was ambiguous, the standard new hire class photo posted to Facebook. He’s all the way to the left. What an idiot.

When the gate agent scanned me down to the plane it was mine. Was I thinking I might get it taken back? Yes. But the agent did right by ME that time by not letting the DL CA take it from me. I’m not bragging about anything, just telling how it happened. The deck isn’t always stacked against us little people.

Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule at Delta to tell us how to act. Hopefully you are doing us all a solid over there by talking us up, and helping folks realize just how good EDV is.

Two words for you, space cadet, and they aren’t “snow free”.

This post, coming from a guy who bashes anonymous fellow pilots on FB... Yeah, I care what you think.

Endeavor either edited or replaced the photo on their Facebook. The hand signal is gone!
