Doesn't shock me one bit considering some of the people I've seen on the line recently. Just look at the new hire page, and see for yourself how "professional" that idiot all the way to the left is. Making childish hand signals because it was a "thing" on instagram. Some people here need to put on their big boy/girl pants. Examples like this which is why we aren't treated like we should be or what we're "worth" by DAL. Can't fly RNAV off the runway in ATL, Whitestone climb, and we have new hires not even out of the school house acting like children. Hopefully someone from the training department sees that and washes him out in sims. Its pretty disgusting the lack of professionalism I've seen and continue to see. Oh but we deserve flow, contractual career progression, same commuter policy's as Delta, yadda yadda yadda. This regional seems like more of an adult day care each day. I am not making this a blanket statement to everyone but some of us need to grow the f$%# up.

Agreed. Gotta love the people who complain about a lack of flow and other perceived injustices while also showing up for work looking like they just rolled out of bed, wrinkled clothes, dip hanging out of his mouth, dispersing Doritos snack mix crumbs about the cockpit all flight.

There needs to be some sort of compromise on this. I agree, nobody here is owed anything for simply existing. That being said, our time here should count for something. If you have put in a certain amount of time here paying your dues, taking pride in yourself and your work, with a good performance record and attitude, that should be enough to have earned something better than the same interview as a random applicant off the street. Hopefully people more intelligent than I in the union and management can find some way to differentiate between those of us that care and the entitled dirtbags.
Yes. Agreed.

Check in the day prior, or walk up to the gate and list for a non-rev flight, it’s all the same. I personally try to do it myself just so the gate agent doesn’t have to “waste” their time doing something I could have done, but about once or twice a year, I find the need to do so. At any rate, you are never behind the 30 who checked in ahead of you, this isn’t AA, it’s DL. Goes on priority code, then hire date (seniority). You can walk up to the gate, have the agent list you, and get on ahead of the 15 SKW, GJ, and XJT pilots who checked in last week.
The only issue you should have on DL is listing for the JS. If you get to the gate 2 minutes after the other JS applicant, he/she wins. Unless it’s a DL pilot, then you lose even if you sign up before they do. Them’s the rules.

Could be the case; I only had it happen once, and the other DCI pilot took the seat. Could well have been that I was new and didn’t realize the rules, but was told that because he listed before me, he got it.
