Anyone commute from DFW to DTW or MSP? Also, how are healthcare costs at 9E? Just for the employee, no family costs. Looking to possibly change horses in the near future and doing homework on where I might land next. Be nice to still live in base here in DFW, but willing to commute or possibly move to new base if I have to.

Anyone know if it is possible to take Mil leave during the first year? You are on probation, so I am just wondering if that means you would have to forfeit your seniority number

You keep your seniority number. There is no penalty for taking military leave. They are really good about working around drill schedules and military obligations. I have not had any problems what so ever.

Have people taken mil leave right after IOE? And how does the company view this?

TIA!

From people I've talked to, ATL to either is a PIA. Also from people I've talked to NY seems to be the preferred base for commuting at least from FL. MCO or JAX are apparently pretty easy to JFK. I don't commute so this is only second hand but food for thought.

nh2ri15,

Me and my Sim partner have both taken a decent amount of Mil leave right after IOE. They had no issues working it into our schedules as long as you give them as much notice as possible.

How long was it from the start of class until you finished IOE

Really? Wow. They told us at the interview ground and sim training would take 90-100 days
