Those 3 hour sits can be fatiguing, especially after a super early show on the first leg. Don't fly fatigued.

Talked to a FA that had two 3 hour sits in one day. Was like 12 hours of duty she said. That's just cruel and unusual. I told her the same thing.

You live in base, barely flying, choking the chicken all day anyway. What are you complaining about?

We will never fix the "line holders as reserves" Probably the closest preventing that was American Eagle and they lost that years ago (obviously) What we can do is de-incentivize the schedule changes. Make any changes that cause your trip to report earlier than scheduled pay 150% for that day, make any reschedules that release later than scheduled pay 150% for any activity that gets done after that original release time... and not just first or last day, any day of the trip. All of a sudden we'd be tripping over each other to be rescheduled. 16 hours in TPA becomes 12 hours in GSP but it's paid premium on the leg in and the whole next day out.... sign me up! That and reserve days not used still getting a value, say 4.25 hours credit would probably go a LONG way to fixing this nonsense.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but RIP Captain Karen. Used to fly high speeds with her years ago. She was a very sweet person who absolutely loved her kiddos. Tailwinds my friend.

I only got to fly with her a couple of times, but I always enjoyed working with her. I was shocked and saddened to hear of her passing. She will be missed.

I also read that her husband is a dispatcher for us. Please keep the entire family in your thoughts this week. Can't even imagine...

Hey guys,

I'm starting with Endeavor mid Nov and was just hoping for some information regarding ATP-CTP, uniforms, headsets etc.

For the ATP-CTP, do most guys study with Sheppard Air? When I accepted the job I was told I'd have to pay for my written exam. Is that done on day 7 of the ATP-CTP course or do I have to go to a testing station in my own time?

What is the best headset to get for the CRJ? I haven't owned one since my flight training and hoping not to fork out 1g for a Bose or something similar. I've looked at plantronics, telex and DC Passive. Does anyone have any opinions on those brands?

And lastly, uniform. I understand the company pays for half, but do most guys go with the company provided or go to third parties (A Cut Above etc) to get nicer fitting shirts/pants?

Thanks for the replies

Sheppard Air. It comes out of your own pocket. You are asked to take the test before starting your class date with Endeavor (after ATP-CTP). You are on the hook for the test cost/scheduling/etc, as well as the Sheppard air software. I didn't bother studying my Sheppard Air Material until after I finished ATP-CTP. Just go home, cram, take test, send results.

As for headset, I use the A20s, so that's all I can recommend. Noise cancelling headsets are an investment into protecting your hearing, though.

The company pays for half of whatever pieces you decide to get. Don't bother with the trench coat. So just get the minimal stuff to get started, then use your yearly uniform allowance towards A Cut Above Uniforms instead (especially the shirts, focus on those first).

I would also recommend getting yourself a luggageworks stealth 22" roller bag.
