But I think you are correct that out of the ashes of this thing that The name “Endeavor” and the operating certificate will be gone and it , along with us, will just fold into mainline and Delta will part ways with skyPest and Republic unfortunately will probably not survive this. There were 1400 retirements scheduled for 2020/21 and I think many more guys will early retire , especially if they offer early buy outs. So they can easily fold 1800 Endeavor pilots into the mix and just make the smallest mainline the 7’s/9’s and find some kind of middle ground on pay rates and then if it’s all mainline there is no more scope clause and they could get 90 seaters as well . So hang in there everyone . My personal opinion is we will all come out better off .or I could be wrong and we will all be flying rubber dog **** out of Hong Kong on a Convair 540.
I hope you remember DL's history with their wholly owneds? And we all know how friendly NW was to their regionals?

We're not getting stapled. They could have stapled Comair to save millions on shutdown costs, they did not.

this situation is like trying to figure what to fix first. A nose bleed or heart attack. History is irrelevant. The entire economy is in shambles and airlines will be the last to recover.

Yes, and I bet two months ago you would have never thought that Delta would be shutting down 70% of it’s airline and the economy would be on the brink of collapse. Nothing is off the table and for one to think otherwise is very naïve.

It’s quite unlikely that lightening strikes twice. More importantly - cui bono? To whom is it a benefit.

If you think for one moment a staple is for the benefit of 9E, you are sorely mistaken. Right now, the advantage of a staple to DL for Delta as a benefit doesn’t come close to equalizing out let alone benefiting Delta.

The only way they would staple is if they plan to flush the entire 9E group to get out of the bridge agreement, in order to provide jobs for furloughed mainline pilots. The cost of that would be outrageous.

Delta wholly owned history:

Comair - Shut down

ASA - sold to Skywest to cut costs before their Chapter 11 filing

Compass - Acquired via the NWA merger, sold to Trans States Holdings

Mesaba - Acquired via the NWA merger, and we all know what happened with this one.

Not exactly a pretty picture.

The Comair situation was way different . There were multiple regionals still around and the Feds had not enacted the 1500 hour rule yet . There were an over saturation of pilots and they could still wipsaw and pit one group against another . Plus Richard Anderson was a goon .Not the case now . They will basically be rebuilding things from the ground up . Republic may not make it and the Retirements will be at record pace. Delta wants to and will just kind of wane off of Skywest . Endeavor will be folded into mainline , Gaurantee . All they need to do is get rid of the name and fold the certificate. It benefits Delta greatly to do this . No one saw this coming .Its going to benefit us . That is if the economy does not implode and the media keep falsely scaring everyone .

Gladly. It’s nice to see some optimism on here for a change. I was starting to think that this was turning into CNN-APC. Truth is we don’t know yet how deeply this virus will affect our economy or the airlines. Right now it’s pretty scary. But hopefully it’ll pass quickly.
