Training is about 2 months, start to OE. OE is dependent on the person and schedule. I believe 25 hours is the minimum, but some have to fly more before a LCA will sign them off.

It was 10 weeks from day one to my check ride, I was the first one done. 2 weeks at least for IOE including the 5 days off after Sims.

The only down side to training is commuting IMO. You get paid the same, go home every few days. So don't fret about how long training is.

Commuting during training? I was told it's all positive space, paid for by the company. If you have two or more days off, they will buy you a ticket home.

That is true. You can request a positive space trip to your "home airport" (the closest to your home served by Delta) as long as the flight isn't oversold when you make the request. So make the requests as early as possible.

Made my request as soon as I got the initial travel info sent to me. If one does it then there shouldn't be any issue getting home.

How many trips home can you make during training? This seems like a really nice benefit, positive space getting home during training. Certainly didn't have that when I was getting spooled up back in the day.

There are two weekends I am able to come home on during the upcoming Feb 16 class. Not counting the last weekend after ground school before sim.

Doesn't sound like there are any limits. If you have at least 48 hours off, they will send you. If you feel like you can handle every weekend at home as opposed to sticking around and studying, by all means, visit the family.

One of the issues I see is that it depends on the route you are flying. I have looked on pass rider before, and seen the last flight out of MSP to a particular destination was 1507. Now, looking at the same flight, there are two more after that. So it all depends. But for sure, early booking is best.

There's no limits and you can generally plan on getting to the terminal by 5:15 on Fridays. There's a Delta employee shuttle that takes you straight to the airport.

I ended up going home every weekend with no issues.

One of mine is booked at 5:30. I guess they wouldn't book it if they knew I wouldn't have a shot at making that one. Correct?
