I use the 850 and so far have no complaints. They are quiet enough and not overkill like the Bose's, which I also have a set of. 850s take up less room in my flight case and IMO the 200 cockpit isn't that loud. Also after 5 legs I don't like my head to be in a vice grip with a bulky around ear headset.
I use 850's with ear plugs. I find without ear plugs my ears get very sore after a long day of flying and the pressure sitting there all day. With plugs in the headset actually presses more on the plugs and not on my ears. Plus it makes for a VERY quiet setup as far as external noise getting through. In fact the only downside is I can't really hear a jumpseater talking unless I pull the headset off my ear. You'll just need to set the hi/low volume to hi and probably adjust the intercom/radio volume higher than normal in order to hear clearly.

Probably 10 DTW 200 and 10 LGA 900, as they aren't yet offering NYC 200 to newhires.

Ufly are working on a setup for the QC25, looks nice so far.

Training: No delays that I am aware of. I was just shy of three months, and I was assigned the last sim slot (two weeks from end of ground to FTD) and had thanksgiving/Christmas/New Years to contend with. 2-3 months is a reasonable guess.
Thanks for the info! So people are currently getting a line right out of training in the NY bases? Just want to make I'm understanding you correctly

Not a line, but they have had NYC 900 assigned in training. I don't know time to a line out there, but in Detroit 200 it's barely two months. Now if they focus hiring on the New York bases, you could see the same thing happen.

If you want New York, I'd say you have a pretty good shot of getting it here.

Would really appreciate the info. Just trying to make some decisions being that I live 20mins from both airports. You can PM me as well if you prefer that.

Thanks!
April 25 class got assigned the 900 at LGA/JFK and 900/200 at DTW. 5 people got LGA/JFK, 4 got DTW 900, and the rest were assigned the DTW 200.

You will hold a line faster in the 200's. As long as the simulators keep humming along at the current pace then you should be starting OE at the end of your 2nd month. Ground classes take 4 weeks and there are FTD's plus 10 sim lessons.

New York 200 was not offered because they had to wait for the latest bids to close out. I imagine the next new hire class will be shoved into New York to contend with all of the 200's going there.

Honestly the only place that is now becoming Sr is MSP. DTW and NY are adding people like mad.
