That, and add up all the OJI's from lifting that bag in and out. These things have to go.

The bags also take up space on mainline deadheads, inconveniencing revenue passengers.

It probably also hurts pilot recruiting when a pilot is trying to decide between airlines.

Flight ops update says 12 CJO's. 57% success rate IIRC

Maybe they should offer Emerald Coast to the 9E pilots interviewing so they stop having such low numbers.

Looks like the move to fall under the Delta 401k umbrella is now happening..well as of this December. Should be more options and lower fees. Woohoo!! I've been looking forward to this change...yes, I am a dork. I was skeptical at first, but it seems that the whole operation is being improved, and everyone who has been around awhile has noticed. That's why I think tablets are within management's want and ability to deliver on. This pilot group has stepped up to the plate under more austere conditions, but current metrics show the kind of performance that is possible when management provides better resources/compensation.

Agreed. Practically every flight, even on the 200, is carrying *at least* a couple flight cases in back. Weight, pax inconvenience, OJI, paper subscription/delivery costs...I really think management is watching this...but I haven't been to recurrent lately. Nonetheless, if I were a newbie, I'd buy a cheap flight case.

I got a cheap case 4 1/2 years ago because tablets were 'right around the corner'....half a roll of black duct tape later...let's hope they come sooner than later so I don't end up having to get another cheap flight case.

That's hilarious coming from a guy asking complete strangers for career advice. I'm sure you'd do much better on your own. Let us know how it goes.
