Back in my day (2007 hire), that was a great reason to go to the regionals. Now you see EVERY range of pilot getting picked up by majors. Flight time is no longer a large factor.

As for FO, reserve could be just a month or two depending on what base you are in.

That's the problem at my current company. I had to get an extension for my consolidation period because the flying was so slow.
