Yep. As I pointed out above, one third of Envoy’s fleet is still 145. Even if they began retiring one a month now, it would take five years for them to all go away. At some point that will happen, and they may start with two or three a month when they do, but it will still be some time before this plane is gone from Envoy. As long as keeping it makes money for AAG it will be around.

Keep in mind PDT also has about 60 145s as well.

It hasn’t been announced yet, but an ex-Eastern Airways (UK) E170 G-CIXW is on its way to Abilene right now. This one is not one of the BA Cityflyer or Aeromexico birds, so either it’s being used for parts or Envoy just found it’s 8th E170.
If we can find a few more 170s, these will be a solid replacement for the 145s when they eventually leave.

According to Ric’s email, 2 will leave the fleet in January, but that leaves us in the dark for plans next year.

Supposedly AAG (Envoy) is working on securing more 170s. As I understand, according to AA’s scope, a 170 is a small RJ and can replace a 145. But there were only 191 made and Republic already flies a third of them, though I think most are for United. Supposedly the 13 AeroMexico had were trash. It looks like Envoy may have ended up with one. Bottom line there just aren’t many available and they aren’t building more. I’m sure there is no monetary reason why Embraer won’t build more, but AAG hasn’t yet come up with that incentive.

Yes, PDT has (according to my sources) 57 E145s. Interesting 40 of them are already over 20 years old, older than the average E145 Envoy flies. The rest are 16-18 years old.
