Would the contract allow new E175s with limited seating to the E170 level of 70 seats or so (similar to the GoJet CRJ550 limited to 50 seat)?
Yes, PDT has (according to my sources) 57 E145s. Interesting 40 of them are already over 20 years old, older than the average E145 Envoy flies. The rest are 16-18 years old.

They may not, but they won’t have a choice if that’s what AAG decides to do. I still think that at some time they will have to absorb PDT into PSA. If they don’t take the ENY hand me downs, it will be sooner rather than later.

Republic still has a lot of 170s for United that could find their way to American ops on the east coast. Envoy’s strategy seems to be “collect the biggest hodge podge of 170s we can”.

if AAG plan is to be consistent (which is a big if), wouldn’t it make better sense for PDT to be absorbed by Envoy? Both would still have a handful of E145s remaining for airports that just won’t support the larger jets.

From that perspective, yes, but I foresee all the ENY 145s (eventually) going to PDT. PDT and PSA together are roughly the same size as ENY. I don’t think AAG would let a WO get as big as ENY and PDT together would be which is why I say PDT and PSA. Plus they both already share a MX base and both do ground services. Not sure the size of that operation for all the different WOs, but it is a bigger part of all three companies.
