Notice I said as long as they are making money. I don’t disagree that, just like CRJ 200s, 145s will be the first to be cut, but I think it’s a long way from that, and I’d be willing to bet the entire Envoy A fund that there will be people still in training for the 145 when they park the last one because that how forward thinking Envoy is.

70/0/30 roughly based on my subjective impression. No data is gathered on this outside of people paying close attention in their own classes.

My class was the opposite ratio but that was over 2 years ago when they always seemed to have as many 175 spots as cadets and no more. Theres realy no way to know so YMMV

I bet the next one will have lots of 145

You can be making money, but if you don’t have enough pilots coming in the door, you cannot fly all of those money making machines. Looking at the RJ industry as a whole, one is seeing planes being parked due to lack of pilots. Makes no difference if that airframe could make money. That is happening right now, today.

Looking at the numbers being hired vs. numbers going to the majors, etc. it is only going to get a LOT worse for the RJs as this year goes on. I am a realist.

That making money includes needing pilots and paying them and treating them better. Granted you are not going to stop people from leaving a regional to go to a major carrier, but there is still a lot that can be done to encourage MORE people to come and fewer to leave and still make money.

In my interview session last Wednesday (9Feb22) they said the most recent indoc class had all slots go 175. MIA and ORD, no DFW.

I am hoping that holds true, or at least plenty of 175, for the next month or two.

Lots of rumors about the 145 going away so they can cannibalize the pilots to keep the merry-go-round going a little longer. Prepare for disappointment though, unless you're a cadet that signed up early and got hours slowly.
