They go super senior. The OT CDO trips go super senior on reserve as well. Imagine 5 days of reserve doing a RAP 3 that starts at 7pm on day one. Day two getting a CDO and Day four getting a CDO. This means you know for a fact that you won't show up to the airport on day two before 8 pm. And you get 30+ hours off between trips and finish at 7 am on day five.

FO CDO OT on a critical day is an underutilized tactic too. Min 4 hour credit each day gives you an 8 hour value for a CDO when your TAFB could be at most 13 hours.

Well there is no critical coverage.

I never took advantage of it because if I was going to come in on OT then I wanted more credit. But it does give an easy boost to total credit without much work. I had several friends take advantage of this. To each their own.

I guess I never familiarized myself with the critical coverage part of the contract. Never new it had a minimum credit application. But I'm guessing the reason I never familiarized myself with it... I've never seen critical coverage on a day I'm willing to work.

Seems like OCC is the only fleet with lots of critical days.

The main problem with the 145 is that it will take a lot longer to get to DFW if that's where you're going, and it will take a LOT longer to hold a line. I have been on reserve almost 10x as long as the people in my class who got OFL/DFL. We're talking part of a month versus years. We have some of the worst reserve rules in the regional industry for commuters.

On CDOs, you have to approach it from the perspective of a captain who lives in base and doesn't want to fly. It starts to make a lot of sense.

Speaking of that - is there a way to see a seniority list somewhere? Or is the flowplan only place to figure out who's getting what? The one on the website is from January.

CDOs do make sense when you think about it that way. I like to fly, so they definitely aren't my thing.

If only it was posted on the ALPA website...oh wait...it is.
