I don’t think this is accurate or fair. Just because you don’t see any action doesn’t mean there isn’t any. When is the last time you have gone down to the MEC office?

Yep, I was nearly half way into my second year before I even saw a retention bonus. This, combined with force upgrades makes the $20K retention bonus a bit of false advertising by the recruiters.

You should see your first bonus in June, you started in Jan so your timer starts at the 2nd quarter bonus since the first was already underway. You'll still get 8 quarters' worth of bonuses, assuming you don't upgrade before they expire. You'll see it pop up in epays towards the end of June.

I got my first retention bonus on my 17th month. All in line with the terms. Now that's not exactly how it was presented to me when I was 'recruited' but as long as I had an opportunity to receive all 8 checks, I think that I could live with that even with a delay in payment.
However, with the forced upgrades and no bonus if you're captain, there's no way to collect on all 8. None. Telling new-hires they'll get $20k in retention bonuses is criminal.
