Envoy had a choice of Canada or Caribbean. They chose the Great White North. They didn’t want the weight penalty for the overwater equipment. But again, I don’t think they would have to equip the whole fleet. But either way, it’s a strategic choice.

They can put life vests on every airplane and get 150 mile overwater. That would do the job, and wouldn’t add more than 200lbs to the airplane. It’s a simple change to the Ops Specs and doesn’t even require a trip to the pool.

Swapping YX out of MIA would make sense. It would let YX consolidate in the northeast and see some new efficiencies in their scheduling. The same could be said for Envoy leaving LGA and taking all of MIA.

The plain and simple fact is that AA owns Miami and South Florida. Having their premier 175 WO doing the flying has always been the goal. Spread so thin over the past couple of years though has prevented it from coming to fruition earlier. You'll see this accelerate now. Envoy pilots will be flying all over the Caribbean soon.

Yep. Will happen right when you flow to AA after five years at the ‘Voy.

This was looked at before and would make us weight restricted and bump revenue paxs operating between Canada and DFW in the winter with an Alerternate. It was decided before it wasn't worth it.

I feel like we have this same conversation every few months and we give the sane reasoning yet people come up with new narratives every time.

RW I believe even sent an email stating it was specifically due to weight restrictions pertaining to Canada flying. The company didn’t feel it was worth it to lose revenue up north for some in the south.

Could this all change if AA pills republic out of Miami? Certainly.
