the whole company? probably 1/10. people let them expire and the CFI flood has only really gotten huge in the last couple years.

in new hire classes it's probably 8/10 right now.

They used to say the exact same about the ATP and other zero to hero fast track programs..... they were great at drinking from the firehose, playing the video game, and the poor IOE Captains had to play CFI as IOE grew from 20 hours to over 100 hours in many cases. We told them the CFI candidates were a better long term product. Nice to see even Envoy management can learn; even if it took 10 years.

isnt the ATP program based on guys instructing each other to get their hours, ie CFIs? What’s the difference between ATP and CFI candidates? You mean the 4 year university program CFIs? The ATP magazine ads in AOPA show an Envoy 175 and imply they prepare you for a regional and/or have a relationship with envoy. I’m behind on what backgrounds are generally the strongest.

Pretty sure Envoy and many other places have been using the mirror fog test in interviews for years.

Depends, Envoy is reactive and always overreacts so when they see a lot of people coming in the door the interview gets way harder, then shortly later they have 12 people bail on a class the night before and if you can spell your name and don't nod off before lunch you're hired.

There is much truth in this statement.
