Say you're based in MIA do you do a lot of out and backs to MIA within a day or 2 or are you basically leaving MIA and flying around the entire network/hitting all the domiciles on a trip before coming back?

There are only a few lines in any domicile that have day trips and those go senior. Otherwise they are usually four day pairings that may go out and back through domicile multiple times or may leave and not see home domicile until the end.

Thanks! Would anyone mind DMing what a trip or schedule looks like on the 175?

No Interview if you have 121 experience?

Ok…

So what’s the catch? I see on the company website that if you have previous 121 experience you can skip the interview… what’s the deal with this? Anyone know?

Sounds like a recipe for disaster. PRIA doesn’t catch all the issues someone can have. Just because you’ve flown 121 before doesn’t mean that you should be hired.

Last time Envoy hired DECs they had some real issues.

airboxdriver 06-21-2022 09:39 PM

Hey guys, can a combination of part 121 & 135 be used towards the 750hrs threshold? Plus what are the conditions for skipping the interview for prior 121 experience? Thanks!

Bozo 06-22-2022 03:44 AM

145 Bases

Could someone tell me where, and the most jr CPT doh, for 145 base(s)?

Thanks

ORD is most junior for 145 CA. It currently has a standing vacancy posted so in theory a new hire could hold it as long as they had the required 950 hours of 121 or applicable 135 time. Junior 145 DFW CA looks to be a 3/2019 hire.

Your best bet would probably be to get in touch with recruiting on both of these questions for a quick and more accurate response. There may be someone who’s able to reply from recruiting but otherwise I would call over and talk to that team and their information should be posted on our main website.

I came with 1000 TPIC part 135 cargo, but it didn't count because it wasn't a passenger operation. It is what it is.

Time out of cockpit

Anyone getting calls after having been out of the cockpit for a while? I'm ex-military out for 5 years. 3100TT, 2800 TPIC, ATP, fighters and heavies.

Have you applied at the majors or even the LCCs? In this market, I doubt lack of recency is that big of a deterrent. Better to be at one of those you don’t want to be at than a regional while trying to get to your destination job.

Sent you a PM.

I'm prior 121 and haven't touched an airplane in a couple years. I had some difficulty at majors and cargo, but Envoy called straight away.

I applied and initially received an invite to interview followed by a CJO the next day. They've asked me to come to Dallas for screening and paperwork. Has anyone else skipped the interview and gone through the full process?

What specifically do you mean when you said “difficulty at majors and cargo”? Training, rejections, or not getting called?

Not getting hired. All the interviews went well. It was just a recency of experience issue.

flightvector 06-25-2022 12:19 PM

If it helps I applied about a week and a half before the pay increase was announced. Then got a call to set up an interview the day the pay increase was announced.

Interview dates at that time were end of July. I imagine we are looking at early to mid august now.

What about class dates? How far out are those being scheduled currently?

I’m wondering same thing- posted in another thread too. I have a friend that is wrapping up training and told me expect 6 months from interview to end of training, but that was before the pay increase and potential rumors of pushing Captain eligible hires to front of the line.

Recruiter told me expect 2-3 weeks after interview to be contacted if you need ATP-CTP.

I still don’t have a class date. They told me back in April to let them know when I was at 1460. I emailed them 2 weeks ago to schedule and they told me everything is booked and they would let me know when I could schedule. So it seems like they aren’t scheduling anything at the moment. Hard to believe since all these airlines need pilots so bad

ATP-CTP or actual Envoy training?

Both. But I’m trying to get an atp ctp date and can’t get an answer from them about atp ctp or indoc

Might be a while... Before the paybumps atp was about a month after interview/captain review board, and now it seems to be significantly more. Start of this year it was about two months from orientation to indoc as well.. which i've heard they've just done away with the orientation with the new pay rates.

What do you mean by this done away with orientation? My interview isn't till end of July so thats when maybe I can learn about class dates as I'll be at minimums by then. At this point it'll be whomever calls me for training first.

From what I've heard the new hires aren't doing orientation anymore like they were doing at the beginning of the year, (they'd give you a short powerpoint and basically put you on payroll / health benefits), and send you home for two months waiting for indoc. Now they seem to be transitioning to doing that first day of indoc. Which seems like it'd lead to a bit more delays in the onboarding

Ah I see that is unfortunate.

I had my interview back in march and got my Cjo back in april. I was just waiting to hit my hours. So it’s been a considerable amount of time since then.

Not sure what Envoy is looking for.

3500hrs TT
1750hrs ERJ175
no failed checkrides
no violations

Haven’t heard a peep.

They literally have over 2000 applications (mostly from CFI’s that have CJO’s at other Regionals). It is going to be a bit before they process them all.

How many hours are you at now? I have my interview in a couple weeks I'm hoping they let me know what we are looking at in terms of class dates. I'll be at minimums pretty much around the interview date so I hope I can get a solid answer.

Over 1500 at this point. I let them know weeks ago I was at minimums so I could schedule. Not really hearing from anyone here though how far out dates are. I don’t think anyone knows

And the majors are hiring 9,000 from the regionals this year. You do the math.

Wow that’s weird are they not responding at all either or just giving you no answer?

Odd they are still actively interviewing then and just putting everyone into a backlog of classes if that’s the case.

Maybe they're prioritizing the prior 121 based on the other thread. With the lack of instructors and LCAs and CAs in general, that makes sense.
