Same reason why they want a wholly owned to begin with. Higher profit margin and a LOT more control. Also a great bargaining chip when negotiating with other regional carriers saying our wholly owned can do this at this price point. Beat that if you want to continue flying for us. Look at what Delta did to Endeavor once they've become a wholly owned.

Correct me in I'm wrong but I believe AA owns a portion of Mesa as well. And yes they've given Mesa additional 900s in the past few years without any modification to Mesa's pilot contract or a vote. That was the 2nd time Airways played PSA and one of the reason I voted no on our last TA because I had no faith that the new AA would keep any of the promises but rather they're using us to pit against other contract carriers.

Parker is not a man of any type of positive leader, what he is a a CEO who divides his employee groups to fight amongst themselves so he can derive profits from stealing your lunch money. Please by no means should anyone portray Parker in any other light other than a very poor leader and he will run the airline into the ground. He is ****sed that a regional pilot group told him NO, wait til APA tells him the same.
The Parker show has begun and he is losing.

You consider a 1.5 Billion second quarter profit losing?

I consider the profit straight up THEFT from the creditors and employee groups via a bogus bankruptcy. Any moron in charge can win, (temporarily) without having to pay bills, debts, contracts etc..

Don't pay bills and violate all your contracts=$$$ in the bank

Doesn't take 3 DUI's to figure that out.

I asked a buddy of mine at PSA what he thought of the deal: "not my problem, could happen to me." I'm all in favor of companies getting additional flying, and hiring, but not at the expense of another group of pilots or having to lose QOL or pay to get it.

Don't think Parker played a role... If you are talking about the American Bankruptcy in 2011 and he wasn't at airways for the 2004 bankruptcy filing.
