With the new contract ,
Does anyone know what kind of reserve time, flow time we are looking at for new hires say in summer 2015? As well as possible bases and planes? (Not that I'm picky but would be nice to have an idea since I don't know how the new contract is going to affect everything)
Is there a lot of commuters at envoy with a crashpad or are you required to move to your base and can't bid on a different base?
Thanks in advance

Depending on what base you get so will reserve time. Let's say it's been about 2-3 years to hold a line. That's cause we haven't had much movement for the past 3 years. Now with new contract, new planes and new flow through we'll have a better movement. We'll have a better idea once we start getting the planes rolling inn. I would say you could get the CRJ / Embraer and pretty much any base as a new hire.

Ouch 2-3 years?! I've talked to a recruiter last year and he said it's about a year on average. 2-3 seems way too long to stay on call basically. With the new contract, if 2-3 years is true, then I don't see it being reduced significantly at all??

I noticed in a pilot contract that you sign somewhere agreeing for ALPA fees to be withdrawn by the company of your behalf... Does that mean you cannot join a company WITHOUT being part of the union? I was all-union in the past but now I don't see the point in giving them any dues.

Jfk is much much less.
When I was hired in 2011 during heavy hiring I spent one month on reserve. That's coming again, our staffing is getting so bad that some bases might hit the point that everyone holds a line. This happened in 2011.
It's a really good time to rush here if you want to ride the front end of a wave.

Then I went from not being able to hold anything except ready reserve to reserve to holding a line in about 6 months.

I'm enrolling in a pipeline program and I probably won't make it to envoy until the fall (ATP requirements). Will Envoy still be booming or will I miss out???? I'm new so don't hit me too hard. I'm on the outside looking in for now. But when I join the party I want DFW.
