This. Why wouldn't you be happy here? It gets very old seeing all of the negativity directed at Envoy. The FACT is, those are people who are jealous of our situation here. We have returning airplanes, a growing fleet of 175's, the flow is not going to STOP despite those who desperately wish it would. Our upgrade time is dropping like a rock plus you have the added benefit of a no interview/no medical flow to AA within 6 years of your hire date.
We just had a class of 8 start and the next class is scheduled for 20.
I stand by my previous statement that an FO position here is on par with that of a JetBlue, Alaska or Virgin FO. If an FO leaves here for Spirit or Frontier, it's a downgrade. Look at that again and read it carefully. With the 6 year flow here, only a fool would leave for any of those places. Certainly not one of our Captains. I see guys here leave for those places from time to time and it blows my mind. You can't fix stupid though.
Envoy has turned the corner and is being positioned to be THE premiere national carrier for American Airlines. Enjoy the ride. We're only getting started.

We got 8 guys(was 9 but one got smart and took off). Most of the rest are guys that are timebuilding for a year, per the reccomendation of their end game airline.
Working for a major airline, making 6 figures, with a big boy quality of life instead of indentured servititude here are NOT the same thing. Not even close. All the idiot is doing is showing his cards: more and more FOs are widely bailing rather than believe lie after lie.

Management definetly jumped the gun on the whole 2.5 year upgrade/6 year flow to AA last year. My opinion is that for someone hired TODAY, those numbers will prove true (or at the very least, close to it.)

Current upgrade is 8 years. If you're new to this industry, then a piece of advise I have for you is to not put ANY stock in what the current upgrade time is. With our attrition and fleet plans the way they stand, the upgrade time is predicted to drop to 2.5 years.

Ric said 2 and 6 over a year ago. Then he changed it to 2.5 and 6. Now he says 2.5 and 6 from NOW. So let's all believe Ric. Again. And Again. (Face-palm)

Not new to the industry at all. Just had some old friends starting at envoy bragging about how the upgrade on the 175 is going to be way less because apparently FOs cannot switch to the 175? It was something ridiculous like that and I just wanted to hear from someone who's been here more than a week. You think if someone were to get hired right now they'd upgrade in 2 though? How do you figure?
I think a lot of guys are DFW based guys, like myself, that don't want anything to do with the 175 due to what happened to the CRJ when it started here. Dallas base to start then shifted to ORD and guys then having to commute that were sitting pretty living in base.
Hard to say but that would be one of my guesses on why several people might not want to go.
