Your CJO is good for a year.

These are the important words. Commuting is different for everyone, dependent on geographic location, time zone and flight frequency.
True, I have had some miserable commutes here 5+ hour domestic transcon flights doing red eyes and getting in at 5:30am just in time to start work for a 12 hour day, 1hr flights with 20+ flights a day (not bad), 2.5 hour flights, 3 hour flights and an even longer international commute many time zones away.

But it would have sucked just the same if I was commuting to Endeavor, PSA, Expressjet, Republic, Mesa, or any of them. Commuting makes this job miserable and sucks the life out of you no matter what regional you work for. None of my commuting friends at other places complain any less than we do about their company sucking. You can always tell if someone is a commuter by their job satisfaction and attitude about this place in about 2 minutes working with them. Commuters complain about everything 10x as much.

Every time I have lived in base here, everything crappy they throw at us is WAY more tolerable and you are generally at home twice as much, if not more. Any new hire looking to commute (to any airline) is asking for suck. Sure you can live where you want but you will be constantly stressed out over commutes, never home, bitter about everything, and dread going back to work because it will always feel like you JUST got home.

And how many were there. Douche. And most have a carry over that will take days away from the next month and since we don't really have any trips in the beginning of the month yes you do lose those days.

And how many years has it taken you to hold 15 days off?

40 out of 119 CRJ lines had 15 days off or greater. 120 out of 189 ORD EMJ lines had 15 days off or greater. Far more lines had 15 off or greater than 11 or 12 but that doesn't really fit into your narrative.

Junior ORD EMJ lineholder had 14 days off and was hired January 2016. Looks like a 15 day off line was awarded to a October 2015 hire. I don't have the CRJ data.

CRJ ORD for june...

16 days off = 7 Lines
15 days off = 37 Lines
14 days off = 18 Lines
13 days off = 11 Lines
12 days off = 15 Lines
11 days off = 24 Lines

Out of 114 Lines, i missed 2 in my count (not going to go thru the BID pack again)

Aspen ORD CRJ

13 days off - 2 Lines
14 days off - 1 Line
15 days off - 4 Lines
12 - 11 days off - 0 Lines

Clearly this person doesn't work here or doesn't know how to bid. Or is bidding weekends off only.

8 months it took me to hold 14/15 days off. I've been here 5.5 yrs...being a line holder since Oct 2011 in the EMJ. The guys on the CRJ held lines 3 months after done with IOE.

It's not impossible, you just know what to bid and what your seniority can hold. Once you can get partial weekends off, I strongly advise to work Friday-Monday or Sat-Tuesday or Thursday-Sunday.

You'll be able to get better trips due to everybody above you will try to get partial weekends or weekends off. There, one little trick if you don't mind working weekends.

I also bid for QOL, I can live with my min guarantee. If I want more money I get OT (rarely do, except on vacations).

EMJ looked like this

18 days off = 5 Lines
17 days off = 8 Lines
16 days off = 26 Lines
15 days off = 81 Lines
14 days off = 37 Lines
13 days off = 21 Lines
12 days off = 11 Lines

You guys are just talking about re-arranging deck chairs on the Titanic. Many people are now forced to commute due to all of the base closures and 15 days off suddenly becomes 11. Focus all this energy on getting out to better places instead of all this "mine is bigger than yours" days off spat.
