If the CRJ's do go to PSA, will Envoy exercise the options on the 175's (ie not nett change in fleet size)?

Has anyone in Envoy management actually mentioned the CRJ's may potentially go, or is this just a rumor at the moment?

No one knows. Psa claims that they are coming. IF they are able to hire enough to get the parked 200s off the ramp and have the capability to staff 35 more 700s it's possible. It would free up some staffing to take additional 175 delivers at envoy but it's all rumor.

I wouldn't bid a vacancy that's a seat lock. I would be available to fly crj while sitting at home working a second job collecting two pay checks until the displacement bid came out.

when is your class date with XJT? if you have sometime, just interview with envoy and see.
I appreciate your response. I really am wondering about going to inverview with a company that will try to hire me, then tell me im not qualified. I have a family and daytime job that I am away from when I go out and do this. Again, I really appreciate your answer and yes I was sort of thinking along the same lines as you.

Thanks, but I'm not on property so I can't do that. Google search only yields things that I can't access, as well.

If you're good enough for XJT, you're good enough for Envoy. I left XJT after 2 years to come here back in April. Do the interview, it's nice to have options.

A displacement bid is when the company eliminates a position either a base closure, fleet type shrinking or going away entirely. They will try to do things slowly and just stop putting people in the position but at some point they have to force people out to a new position. Assuming the crj goes to psa with additional 175 options coming online. They would displace off the crj to the 175. But it's not that simple because if a senior fo on the crj wants to go to the 145 in NY that means now a Jr fo on the 145 gets displaced to maybe ord or the 175. Its a chain reaction until the most Jr few are left with what ever position is leftover. The company doesn't like to do it since it causes many training cycles and Jr people don't like it because they get shuffled around.

The CRJ's leaving is something that is discussed in just about every union phone call and what is going to happen with the fleet. It is no secret that AAG wants the Wo's to have a common fleet in their network so it elims all of this issues with being displaced and having to go through long term. (Which you guys are all interested in at the moment)

The issue is still on the PSA side and them taking or not taking aircraft from us. So the issue is still open ended since we have people here able to fly them.

Edit: It is also apparent looking at the bids and vacancies that the company is super sensitive to having a displacement (esp with the 175 inc) because a lot of the senior guys will want to move and it will bump NH's out of the spots on the aircraft they have been sooooo itching to fly here.

It is possible but not a Guarantee. Best thing to do is to bid around it and see about moving vacation to cover when you are away. (RSV might give you more control than a line would but who knows in 6 mos from now) They open up VAC requests at the beginning of every month and show what blocks are open that you can req your unused vacation time to be moved to instead of a block you currently have.

Might be able to wiggle a PO day or a PVD if nothing else from the CPO but you are at the mercy of staffing levels and who has also made a request for the day off.
