Exactly. Throw a bunch of money out to get new hires in the door, then beat them like Michael Vick with a pit bull once they're here (worse than they do already, at least). Good luck filling classes once that word spreads! Just because the contract says mgmt CAN take $28 million from us for saying no doesn't mean that it would be in their best interest given the hiring market now and in the future. Pilots have leverage over mgmt like never before thanks to the retirements and the stark lack of new blood coming into the industry. You can't be afraid to walk away from the table when terms are not agreeable to you. Call their bluff.

It's all about the software and who controls it. My guess is the company will pick the program and not let us have any control over it. However, if we get to pick the program and administer its usage and parameters then it may not end up too bad.

Looking at the Online Learning Center on Envoy's website I see tons of info. Does anyone know if during ground school you review any of these? I'd like take a look, just dont know where to begin. I am a cfi on the pipeline program. Thanks!

they have management who cares, good for your friends. Your point really has no merit at envoy.

If anybody thinks we're going to get DTS applied after the schedules are built I hear not even AA gets that. They have PBS spreading out everywhere and there's no DTS anymore. Apparently you can add days to your vacation block, but they come out of your bank. Not sure how many days you get in total.

Anyone able to provide a basic definition of PBS and DTS? Still new to this.
Side note: I was given the pre-employment offer on the day of my interview (10/21), as well as the other 4 pilots that interviewed. The entire process was very laid back.

PBS is a system of bidding for your monthly schedule. DTS is a way of dropping any conflicting flying during your vacation turning 1 week off into 2-3 weeks off.

It's not. In the PBS practice something similar was implemented.
If you chose to extend you week of vacation, you checked a box and the system was going to award 3 off days before and after your vac week.
You would have 13 days straight of vacation with 1 week. The real issue is that with the line bidding you can have 16+ days off in a row. Pick some OT at 150 or 200% and make the money you lost dropping two sequences.
