yeah, MESA or PSA

Well, recency of flight time is considered, but quality of recent flight time is more important. If you've passed a 121 ground school (ever), you're good to go. If you haven't, like me, they'll tell you to pass a 121 school elsewhere and come back...most likely. I was told that I was vouched for by 2 interviewers (pilots) and one recruiter (also a pilot) but even then my lack of a 121 ground school passed was enough to postpone my offer.

That said, I didn't settle for no. I spoke with a few people and was eventually signed off on. I was told to prep as hard as I can for sim, as I have proven to be able to learn systems no problem based on my past 141 ground school for the CRJ 200. I'm beyond grateful that I was able to speak to my passion for this industry and be considered after all.

Side note: I did the internet video interview with Mesa for the hell of it. There is ABSOLUTELY NO technical portion. I was told immediately that there would only be HR questions. 7 minutes later I was asked which jet I wanted to fly. Seriously.

Mesa DOES have training contracts now. They sent my "new hire" packet with PDF's and two of them were for ATP-CTP and ground school. $5000 prorated over 3 years for ATP-CTP and $12,780 over 1 year for their ground school. What a ****ing joke.

Edit: I understand their need for training contracts since they're now the go-to for a free type rating. That makes sense. I just hate to see them perpetuating what has kept me out of commercial aviation for over 7 years. *sigh*

Might be able to wiggle a PO day or a PVD if nothing else from the CPO but you are at the mercy of staffing levels and who has also made a request for the day off.
Thank you, it's greatly appreciated!

Problem is if you are planning on using your vacation for the wedding, you won't have any to use. You accrue vacation time based off of how many months you worked the year before. If you are starting in December, you will be lucky to get 1 day of vacation for 2017.

There are other things that you could try. Hopefully they work with you to figure something out. Just don't bank on having a vacation to use.

You start class in December, you will start flying the line around March. You will still be bottom half of the reserve list in July, you will have no vacation to bid on, you aren't likely to hold a hard line thus being in reserve. Middle of summer will likely not yield any type of additional days off that you aren't awarded on your reserve line. We have the ability to borrow from the following years vacation and by July you will have a week worth of vacation for 2018, however they are going to be denied due to staffing, specifically since you are likely to be asking for a weekend. I am not trolling you, just telling you like it's going to be.

The best advice I can give you is, plan a flexible weeding that you can schedule the month prior once you have your schedule or reschedule it for 2018 once you have vacation.

Or simply request a PO (personal off). You won't be paid for those days but who cares when it's your wedding. They will not make you miss your wedding that's just silly.

So is getting the time off in July possible for my wedding? Any help is appreciated. Anybody but "daOldMan".
Give them enough notice. If it's your own wedding you'll get it off one way or another

Unfortunately I was there, and I can tell you the screw job WAS monumental. Homer and Co. were truly representative of the ENTIRE Simmons pilot group. The bad news was that they outnumbered all of the rest of us--so they could vote in whatever--and they did.

And the farm animals around there may NEVER walk correctly again.

Assuming the crj goes to psa with additional 175 options coming online. They would displace off the crj to the 175. But it's not that simple because if a senior fo on the crj wants to go to the 145 in NY that means now a Jr fo on the 145 gets displaced to maybe ord or the 175. Its a chain reaction until the most Jr few are left with what ever position is leftover. The company doesn't like to do it since it causes many training cycles and Jr people don't like it because they get shuffled around.
Thanks for taking the time to explain.
