My guess is as good as yours.

So $58,000 first year. What about second year?
Second year is now $40/hour plus the $20,000 retention bonus, which is paid out as $10,000 per year. New hires should be upgrading to Captain during their second year.

It's based on how many pilots we have on our seniority list, how many are flowing, how many upgrades need, etc..

Upgrades for new hires is 2 to 2.5 years.

All this did was increase pay for new hires(they have not suffered in the right seat for yrs.) And give captains A share of the quarterly bonus. Current fo's got nothing. Well 2500.00 for upgrade

Ok Skyvector... Why do you keep saying upgrade time is going to be less than three years? Some serious movement has to take place before you can start predicting this. When I start seeing classes of 20-25 every two weeks for 3-4 months in a row then I can understand making this wild claim.

Until then you are just a crazy man that cut down his corn to build a baseball field that is hearing voices in your head.

This is huge for new hires and first year FOs. It's alright for pilots on step two and three, but it's a huge slap in the face for senior FOs. However, if this creates more movement and helps us upgrade faster then I think might alleviate some of the sting for the slap in the face.

For the past year these incentives they have rolled out have fallen way short. This proposal although not as good as I would of wanted might just be enough to get the people we need in the door. Time will only tell.

That's one way to look at it. Another way is to realize that current FOs will upgrade and flow at a much faster rate with an increase in new hires. Especially now that AA wants 40/month from Envoy.

When a current Envoy FO is sitting in the cockpit at AA in a couple of years, I guarantee they won't care if they got a few extra bucks an hour at Envoy.

This will benefit everyone, from current pilots to new ones. Upgrades and flow will be such that other Regionals are going to have a very, VERY hard time competing with Envoy. Especially with the highest pay for new hires now.

It's all about math. Think 40 per month above you leaving every month. There's your quick upgrade. Plus, you'll be sitting at AA in a couple of years anyway.

New hires can now think 2 years to upgrade and just a bit over 5 to flow. So, the lack of bonuses won't even come into play.

And lets not pretend that current FOs are getting "nothing". Current FOs are already receiving a $20,000 retention bonus and now will be getting an additional $2,500 when they upgrade. On top of all the aforementioned benefits of faster upgrade and flow.

Our Union worked hard on this..and we are lucky Scott Kirby got fired when he did because this would have been a pipe dream if he was still around.
