Why do people argue their regional is better so much? I mean, unless you aren't happy at your shop you shouldn't care what others think. Am I right?
Those 100 plus people a month who allow skywest to go into all these places and undercut other airlines. And yes because they are getting so many people they won't raise their pay, and will continue to hold the industry back because hey let's all go work for skywest. Crack that whipsaw SKW fans.

How long did you work at SkyWest and how long did you work at envoy? Unless you can say that you spend a significant amount of time at both companies, you are just a fool, comparing the realities of one company with the fantasy of another.

If I had double digits seniority, I wouldn't be here for sure!

As a Skywester that's been really lucky with bases and timing and enjoys going to work, don't commute

Nobody is a "fan" of any airline and who's holding the industry back? Sounds to me like some have it figured out here and some don't.

Honestly if anything SKW is probably helping you guys because regionals that struggle to hire just keep throwing more and more money out, so tell me again why you're complaining? Of course if SKW increased pay then you'd get even more but really now, aren't you guys making about $60k a year? Seriously going to fight about that? Seriously? You guys just like to complain or something lol

And cry me a river if you're complaining about management getting better deals than other airlines. It's called COMPETITION. Business isn't about rainbows and butterflies and let's hold hands and help out Mesa airlines... Come on

Exactly and Envoy is still a very reasonable company to many that have priorities elsewhere. It's just pathetic the way some people act around here like it's a war between airlines if you go somewhere else. Do your own research, outweigh what's a priority, and make a decision. It's not like there is a right or wrong company here. Two perfectly fine options to be happy with.

I'm not saying help out MESA. I'm just tired of all these Skywest people thinking they are God's gift to humanity because they work for an underpaid airline. Yes it's competition, and we have a voice in that with where we choose to go. If more people got over the skywest hype and chose airlines that paid better then skywest would have to face the competition and raise their rates and in turn other airlines would raise theirs. Reverse the whipsaw!

Wasn't it less than a year ago Envoy was paying $26 an hour for first year pay? Maybe Skywest will raise their pay, give it a little bit of time, things don't happen instantaneously

Have you looked at the pay beyond year 1? Because Envoy is the one who who is behind, not SKW. Why do you think that is? SKW pilots vote for money beyond the 1st year because it literally makes no sense to give a new hire all the money in the world and treat your 2+ year pilots worse. Also, like said above you just got a pay raise recently as you guys were in the Mesa category of pay per hour. SKW actually raised pay this year, just not for 1st years. Which is brilliant.

And you guys have to remember, the music can stop anytime. Just like economy did in 08. We are not invincible to that. Neither is your flow. That could end any day now. Sounds to me like some here are EXPECTING a 2 yr upgrade/5 yr flow. Once you set expectations (off a recruitment projection???) that's how you start getting upset.

Nobody should be drinking any Kool aid here, just providing cold hard facts. The poster who said Skywest is severely behind and "not competitive" is 100% wrong. You should be rooting for SKW honestly...like you said the more they continue to be successful at hiring the more your airline gives out money. Problem is you'll be past 1 year and right now a lot of airlines don't care about pay past year 1 like they do for new hires. See why raising pay doesn't make sense just for a new hire?

In other news, I confirmed today the Paris sims are go. There are just a few details left to iron out. Particularly regarding paying taxes..EU law requires anyone working there to get paid in Euros and pay appropriate taxes. That means our sim instructors will need work visas unless they are already EU citizens...which some of our instructors are.

Also, it looks like the rotation the company wants is 3-4 weeks. A few guys in the union are going to try and push for shorter stays. That's all for now. I was in a hurry and forgot to even ask about when this is going to start.
