No worries. I would have definitely been one of the people who called had they not explained it to us proactively. Seems like they forgot to tell a couple of new hire classes. Also, your March per diem and over guarantee will all be on the last check in April, so expect your next check (Apr 15) to be another small one.

November: You get paid training + training per diem
December: You get paid training + training per diem
January: You get paid training + training per diem
February: You get paid training + training per diem
March: You get paid guarantee (NO per diem)
April: You get paid guarantee + March's per diem + March's overtime
May: You get paid guarantee + April's per diem + April's overtime

There is a month lag for per diem and above guarantee once you actually start flying.

If you aren't just finishing training, then this doesn't apply, obviously.
Good luck!
Very well said. If you looks at your pay stub you may notice (c) (R). These are identifiers of what month it's paid for. C= current month R= prior month.

Default New Hire Classes

Hello all! I am going to be in the first May class and I was curious if anyone is possibly knowledgeable on where new hires have been assigned recently and flying what airplane? And is it still birth date for seniority?

Very sound advice! It could also be you're negative about your job and surroundings because you're negative about yourself. Fix that first.

We're all screwed up, it's just a sliding scale.

Rough numbers
40% of class -175 DFW
40% ". 145 LGA
20%. ". CRJ ORD

Age rules seniority

That is true, it could be worse. I'm not miserable about it, frankly if it only affected me I wouldn't really care, but many of us have a wife and kids that could use us around a little more, especially after putting up with 3+ years of reserve abuse. After the junior-manning spree of last summer/fall/December it seemed that maybe staffing was going to be at least a little better, and then they dropped the ORD contraction on us with no warning and we are all involuntary TDY and reserve forever. Of course I realize things could be worse, but it is frustrating to see your wife and kids frustrated with your job, no matter how rosy your outlook.

You also need to know where the boxes are, because you'll probably watch your commute/deadhead flight leave while waiting there.

I find the urban garden is a nice place to do that while having to sit standby on the last day.
