What base/equip? Hopefully a lot more of that going forward.

Probably more of the fact every single major and ULCC is currently hiring big numbers. Unless your flowing in a year or less you’d be crazy not to take a job at a major instead of sitting around waiting for AA

New hire here will be asking for the 145. Anyone have bag/kit bag recommendations that work well/fit well in the 145 cockpit?

As though you’ll have a choice 😂

Literally any kit bag will work.

Flight Level Flight Bag https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0173RXETG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_KVO3AbZJ05SGK

I swear by this bag. I keep a pair of gun muffs for walk arounds which this has a spot for it. Plenty of room for anything else you need to carry.

Pretty much any hold all will work; just depends on how much stuff you're trying to carry. Timbuk2 Commute works well if you're just trying to carry EFB and a headset; has the benefit of looking like a regular messenger bag and is useable for other stuff than flying. For something slightly larger, Luggageworks makes a couple EFB bags with various pockets. I've seen the Luggageworks Pro Crew that my gf uses and it's a good bag. A step larger, while still fitting the kitbag holder, is the Aerocoast Pro Crew. I've recently started carrying that and am really happy; if anything it might be excessively spacious. Finally, I've used the Aerocoast EFB cooler and that's a good option to hold cold food, your EFB (back pocket), and vest/headset in a top pocket (fits a DC Pro-x no problem).

Is there any big difference in aircraft ,as far as , the plane that fastest from start of training to the line?
Will any aircraft limit your base options?

Is there a way to know if any bases are better choices for Midwest overnight possibilities in Ohio Indiana and Kentucky ( for family consideration)

It's likely equipment choice will be made for you depending on where you sit within your class seniority. CRJ slots pop up now and then (ORD), 175 goes like hot cakes (ORD/DFW) so usually you'll end up getting the 145 (ORD/MIA/DFW/LGA). 145 ORD gets CMH, IND, LEX overnights every now and then.

CRJ gets through training fastest by a large margin right now, but tends to go senior (right after 175s). Expect 145 LGA.

I use a Contrail FL420, it's ok. Won't fit in the ****ty little plastic bag holder in the jet if you cram it full, but fits neatly with a reasonable load.
