I don't see hundreds of ERJ captain vacancies over the course of 18 months, especially with the news of UA halting hiring until 2018. Just not seeing it.
When they bring at least 25 airplanes back to the ERJ side there will be vacancies. Probably around 250 vacancies when all said and done assuming 10 pilots/plane and also need to factor in attrition. The ERJ side is short staffed and the CRJ is overstaffed currently.

They certainly won't furlough anyone, even if it means creating vacancies. You'll see ERJ vacancies on the next bid, and the bid after that, and after that. And after the next bid, the rest of the bids will be open to everyone to exercise their seniority/juniority in the next 15 months. And that's even with UAL not hiring until 2/18. There are still other airlines hiring and including many regionals who will hire our FOs. They better hope hiring numbers rise here or there won't be enough meat in the seats.

So if ATL category is going away, how does that produce the effect of minimizing the upgrade longevity? Seems to me then the most junior captain will thenceforth become 2006, then 2005 etc.

Is that resulting from the ERJ position notice that had 90 upgrades? When does that take effect?

The investor update shows 100 145s by the end of 2018. Wasn't the UAL CPA for 120ish aircraft? Something doesn't add up.

So end 2018- 100 erj, 22-44 crj thats 122-144 aircraft or 1500 pilots?? How many on the combined list right now? (APC says 2500) guess the question is how much attrition is happening??

Supposedly, it's for 126 ERJ145s, starting 1/18.
