Purely out of curiosity, why is the 700 the only ASE capable AC? I don’t know anything about ASE ops, but isn’t the max wingspan 95’? Or am I missing something else here?

I’ve been told the ERJ doesn’t have the balked landing performance.... wingspan has been a issue for mainline type aircraft...

So United is planning on removing owned 175s from Mesa but these might be going to Mesa?
That doesn’t t even make sense in airline speak.

The wingspan is just one issue. The other issue is performance. High altitude combined with a short runway (for the altitude) and rising terrain in all directions, there aren't many aircraft that have the single engine performance.

I was told it was single engine departure procedures. Only the 700 has sufficient performance. The 900 doesn’t even qualify.
