He isn’t breaking it down by aircraft just total numbers. Very few if any new hires will go to the 175. Will be all about the 145 here on out. You get the same pay as an F/O and will get a line upgrade quicker so not a bad thing in the end.

It's not new flying, it's the same flying in new aircraft. Their total number of 70 seaters is not changing from what I understand.

His point is that it's not 20 more aircraft to Mesa, like you say, but rather an extension of flying they already have. They are replacing aircraft already in service, and extending their contract.
