It's almost like the strategy is to try to force out the top third of the seniority list by making them as miserable as possible if they really do close a couple of the bases in 2020.

I’m sure they’d love to but they want to grow the fleet and are resorting to street captains? If they were smart they’d stabilize what they have. They risk losing more FOs than captains, IMO— they have nothing to lose by defecting to another regional and would get a nice payout for doing so.

I think ExpressJet is experiencing what Endeavor pilots have in the past complained about. The "mothership" is making the business decisions on a day to day basis with almost zero communications on what the future holds(because they don't really know at this stage). Remember how long they were strung along about GoJets flying.

I agree! Its like they want to have their cake and eat it too. You can guarantee that lots of change is on the horizon for the United Express flying given the hiring next year, the 550s conversion idea, pending scope negotiations, and so on. I really think 2020-2021 is going to be a wild ride for the airline industry especially if the economy holds.

Sure, they will shuffle everything whilst never getting a grip on the one thing that matters: hiring and retaining pilots. It’s almost as if they aren’t aware of the scope of the issue and the contractors are afraid to admit the problem (much less actually do anything meaningful about it).
Envoy offers $55k+ in bonuses to go to the left seat.. will they offer the same or better here?

Why will street captains want to come here unless they live in IAH? Seems like a small crowd they’re trying to attract? With EWR severely downsizing or shrinking along with CLE and ORD very senior it leaves IAH unless we get a DEN base...

Alternatives abound— that’s the beauty of the pilot market right now.
