"Hiring 600 in 2019" = 515 more hires.

8.5 months left in 2019; 515/8.5 = 60.5 per month, every month, for the rest of 2019.

Will it happen?

Forgot to subtract the number of people who leave over the same time frame.

We still haven’t official turned the corner yet. Have not seen a month where the net number of pilots has increased from the month prior. Still losing, but much more slowly now. With PSAs new rates, I think they’ll have to up the ante.

Xjt pilot count
6/1 - 1865
7/1 - 1824
8/1 - 1769
9/1 - 1687
10/1 - 1642
11/1 - 1597
12/1 - 1541
1/1/2019 - 1502
2/1/19 - 1470
3/1/19 - 1458
4/1/19 -1448
Today - 1444

48 since Mar 4 class. So averaging 16 per class every week now. If they start 1 class per week starting yesterday, that will bring 64 per month.

For someone on the list right now, that means their relative seniority will grow by 4.4% a month just by growth. If XJT keeps sending 20 per month to UA and 20 to others (retire, or other airlines), you'll move up by 104 spots a month - a relative move of *7% per month*.

To hire 600 as repeatedly stated they will, that means they will need to keep up this pace for the rest of the year - 8 months and change.

If that happens, someone on the bottom of the list now will have a seniority close to 50% by Christmas. Upgrade times will drop through the basement. I doubt anyone hired in March will have to fly weekends or holidays if they don't feel like it.

I know this is pilot math, but if this is even close to what actually happens, this will be one heck of a wave.
With only 6 in the class yesterday, sounds like you might want to recalculate some of those numbers.

What’s on the list mean? Accepted a class date? Already started?

Don’t bet your load on the CPP. Success rates are hovering around 30% Go somewhere with a real flow.

This is just my opinion, but I wouldn't make a decision based on CPP/flows. Life is weird and unexpected enough, you never know what can happen long term, sometimes not even short term geez. I'd rather go to a place for a base/decent payscale-earning potential/work rules. Just my opinion

Is that a factual number? And is it a RECENT number? I know you’re not a fan of the CPP, and I know why.....but I thought success rates had improved.
