You either have blinders on or you have been drinking way to much of that Skywest juice that they served. Not all airlines are waiting months to upgrade. Some of those regionals around right now are forcing people to take the next upgrade class or are upgrading pilots that are in Indoc class.
Most airlines are running October upgrade class bids for, you know, October upgrade classes. Not some class at the first of the year.

Check this guy out, he not only knows what all the pilots at Expressjet think, he knows what all the recruits think as well!
“People are learning the truth.” I’m pretty sure “people” can tell the truth from the lies on here. The truth is consistent. The fabrications have to be modified daily as they are discredited one at a time.
The truth is, new hires look at this company as a steppingstone. They will accept ExpressJet’s current contract because a) they like the ability to choose their base right out of training, b) they like the fact they can start immediately and not have to wait on a class date c) the upgrade times are becoming competitive and d) the pay is not that bad. A new hire will make over $65K here his or her first year and $50K the second. By year 3-4 they will be gone! The contract is set up for new hires! They will never pass on the things I have listed for a better duty rig or no rolled days off or whatever. 90% of them don’t even know what that means!
You may not like it, but your rhetoric falls largely on deaf ears.

Nobody can hide the fact that the total number of pilots continue to shrink month over month, as well as the # of lines. This is not a recipe for long-term success. Why go to XJT when you can make more money and FLOW at an AA wholly owned.

It is great that so many XJT pilots are seeking career advancement. That should be the goal for everyone.
I hope it continues.

Ah yet another story that will have to change within a few months. Let’s assume that the company continues hiring at the rate they have since February 1, when the big new goal was set. About 33 new hires per month. How many months will they average on property? Let’s use 40. 40 x 33 is 1320. With a few hundred lifers lurking around the numbers have to go up.

Yeeaaahh. Either you a) aren’t a line pilot. b) are a recruiter. c) look for new pilots at conventions d) are really good at blowing smoke up the rear ends of unsuspecting potential airline pilots.
Or e.) All of the above.
Either way, you do not support the collective view of the pilot group. Which is fine. People are learning the truth and are very skeptical. For the short term they’ll take the signing bonus and a nice new shiny jet.
