Had I been a CPP reject, I would call it "a blessing in the skies". The guys that went to United will be washing dishes at The Olive Garden for years to come, I know of a few buddies of mine, put their apps in at Amazon fulfillment centers and they still have not got the call. The conservative approach would be to take the pay cut in my opinion and get yourself through school for more prestigious and stable career or heck learn and apprentice for a good trade that will make you 10 times more money than slinging gear for some yellow eyed/ teethed, foul smelling breath joker with no social skills, who was never thought how to groom or dress. The second would be to burn the place down and live on unemployment go to school or trade school while enjoying some free time, tasting college life all over again...

C5 has less than 20 pilots who have been on property 10 years or longer. How can Expressjet possibly compete considering they have a few hundred people who have been there 20 years plus? Expressjet mechanics and operations people are also paid more.
Are you going to get concessions from all these groups in a matter of days?

This mindset will hold you back. The blame United they didn’t hire me argument is tired and lame. No airline hires everyone they interview. They shouldn’t, either. Just because one major turns you down, that doesn’t mean you should give up. If you do, look in the mirror for whom to blame.
That’s like saying I asked a hot chick from work out and she said no. So I’ll just be single forever.

And, it just annoyed me at the anti-regional bias. Absolutely NO ONE would criticize a 25-year senior captain at a major for merely being there. But at the regionals, it is a source of ridicule. Okay. Got it.

I wouldn’t ever advocate pay cuts. Especially at the regional level where compensation is already so low. But, these are unprecedented times and you have no leverage. I guess you can always roll the dice and see. But polish up that resume if so because you may end up in the unemployment line.

There’s 100+ pages of “will xjt make it” here... people making predictions. But somehow my opinion is one which is silly. Who the hell knows. Congrats on getting out. I’m happy your company is thriving. I’m currently browsing indeed listings
