What to expect at Expressjet/ASA training???

Good info in this thread! XJT was my first airline (and the ERJ my first jet), so I know how it goes. It's definitely a firehose exercise, but the most important thing is this: Don't panic. They're going to throw a lot of information at you in a short period of time, and it might feel overwhelming at times. Just remember that many before you passed training just fine, and it's in the company's best interest to see you hit the line.
I'm sure I'm repeating others in this thread when I say this, but it bears repeating: Know your limitations, memory items, flows, and profiles cold before you show up to class. If you do that, you'll free up a lot of brain power and study time later on down the road when you're being inundated with systems. You don't want to have to learn all of that stuff while you're trying to wrap your head around the electrical system, powerplant, etc.
To pass along some words of wisdom from my instructors in my last initial training program: Study 2-3 hours a night tops, have a beer with dinner, and SLEEP. Don't freak out!
Good luck!

Chill out and treat everything as if you had to take the PC tomorrow, then once the time comes it will be an absolute joke to you ( if you are new )...if you've been here before, enjoy the time as the ' mentor ' of the class, but don't take it for granted too much because no slack will be granted to you on the line without a good attitude and adequate skills...We have fun out here, but in my experience there's maybe 2-3 guys/girls out here that aren't above average if not excellent at what they do....Welcome Aboard !

To go along with the above just relax... its a jet and not a turboprop... just have a general knowledge of the aircraft systems and y'all will be fine. Its not like you have to build the son of a gun.

No PS home anymore, unfortunately. Pack for 7 weeks. You will probably get your company ID by the 2nd week and that will allow you to jumpseat, but if you don't make it back.. you're screwed!
I started on the 3rd and they required business casual... half way through the second week they changed the policy. You can now wear jeans but they still want to see a collared shirt.
Instructors are great! They told us that they're planning to hire 32/month indefinitely. Great news! We still haven't been officially assigned to a base yet, but we've been told to expect ORD. Lots of rumors going around about a DEN base opening. The CAL arbitration threw everything for a loop and a lot of details seem to be up in the air.
Good luck to you!

Fairly certain you CANNOT jumpseat until you have taken your PC, so be careful with that. At least that is how it was in 2007 when I was hired but maybe things are different now. You really are not a crew member until you have completed your training. Good luck and PM with questions.
They still haven't "officially" assigned our bases yet.... but everyone is expecting ORD. Time on reserve is anyone's guess.
