I'm sorry. Bless your heart. You must be new or unaware. Delta only wants the previous ASA side only. So when you hear pilots talking about our contract negotiations we reference ASA for our side and ExpressJet for the other side.
So if you are on the ExpressJet side then lucky you if Delta doesn't take your side since this would be bad for us ASA folks.

Ugh, I hope for everyone's sake I hope this is just a rumor. Although, I remember off and on rumors about Pinnacle buying Comair, then Mesaba and look what happened. I'm not sure why, but acquisition rumors usually have some validity. At least that's what it seems like to me from past experiences. Anyway, going through a merger again does not excite me. it's a bumpy ride, as I'm sure you all can attest. Either way, good luck, and happy holidays
Interesting rumor indeed. Given the current state of the regional industry can anyone give the pros and cons to us younger folks. I'm fairly familiar with Comair and Mesaba but those were different times I think or am I being naive? I'm just thinking of a possible actual flow that can come of this which will bring new hires, which we need but currently have little to offer in return.

Flow would be interesting in that half the captain list would stay at ASA, so crew costs would be high until they retire or die. Little point in talking about it though. Charlie don't surf and Delta don't flow.

Here's another complication about a Delta buy back. Since Xjt has legacy ASA flying as American Eagle that complicates a sale back to Delta. Not that Delta doesn't have the money to pay a contract cancellation. I'm sure they would have to pony up some $$$$$ to AA since they wouldn't dare have a wholly owned flying for a competitor. I'm referring to the ASA CRJ flying in DFW. If it wasn't for that, a sale of the Legacy ASA side would be much easier, but more consolidation in the Regional sector seems to be on the horizon. It could take a year or more for the next wave to happen, but it will be interesting to watch - hopefully from the window while at a Legacy
