Why not ask for more money, geez. Taking less, or even equivelant pay, is rediculous.

Nope, still trying. I'll probably go to another job fair in the fall.

I agree. They can start getting rid of the folks who dreamed up the name SureJet and cost the company a ton of money.

I'm interviewing in a couple of weeks. I live in MCI and REALLY don't want to commute. What are my chances of getting MCI? (I'm 33).

My buddies at XE say MCI is super junior. I'd say you shouldn't have any problems getting it.

I thought that might be the case. Don't I still have to worry about getting assigned to the CRJ? I feel like that would knock me down closer to 50%.

What's reserve like on the erj and how does it compare to the crj? How many days off per month on either side and how easy it to pickup trips?

I would put down ERJ MCI as my first choice and then continue down on the list of all ERJ bases and then take one CRJ base that you would prefer. This way at least your chances of being assigned the ERJ is higher and then moving around to the MCI base will be easier. Also, check the commutability for the CRJ bases and pick the one that would give you the best commute. Either way, congratulations and good luck in training.

I believe the ERJ side has much better reserve rules. On the CRJ you get 11 days off and except in pretty rare circumstances (LOA allowing it for a month or two every few years) you cannot pick up trips while on reserve.

You also have to call to get released which usually consists of "Uh yeah, are going to have to check with reroute. Call us back in an hour." All this after waiting on hold for 10 minutes and missing your commute home.

Oh and don't forget occurrences. The company love's occurrences on the CRJ side.
