I would assume the Bureau gets their information from each air carrier.

Also take a look at "Average Speed Aloft between Destinations" or load factor or fuel burn per hour. I suspect they have incomplete 2013 data.

Come on man. LOOK AT THE DATA!!! It shows e145 block hours going from 800,000 in 2012 to 350,000 in 2013... which throws the block hour costs right out the window. Those numbers you are referring to aren't official, are using incomplete data, and some of those numbers are proprietary (requiring non-disclosure agreements from individual companies) and are probably a simple math formula off of reported revenues in SEC filings... which again doesn't tell you anything.

But...but...I read it on the internet from a really official looking site. It has to be true!

Thanks for the opinion piece.

I guess it's lost on you that DAL gained control of Pinnacle (Endeavor), which terminated their CPA (contract with Delta)? Unless Delta plans to acquire ExpressJet of SkyWest, that's not going to happen. Delta doesn't even have the cash to try.

Thanks for belittling me with the worn out contractor crap. I hope it helps you sleep better at night knowing you've reached middle age and ****ed your life away in a failed career.

Default Pilot population numbers at IAD

I have recently interviewed and been given a conditional offer of employment with XJT. I am trying to see what the FO population numbers are by aircraft type at IAD. I have not been offered training dates yet, but want to know if one aircraft or the other is better to get IAD. Both are supposedly junior bases at IAD, but pilot population may indicate other trends.

KIAD # of ERJ FOs: ??
KIAD # of CRJ FOs: ??

Thanks for the help.

61 IAD ERJ FOs in Feb for 34 lines and 10 relief lines. Those numbers change every month.

My classmates just junior to me are just getting lines in EWR and relief line in MCI.

The current trend in IAD is to fly less than others at other bases. And, now for Feb, it seems we will get lines later too.

IAD is harder to get off the bat on the ERJ in comparison to the other bases like EWR or IAH. While I'm not trying to stir up anything here, but I believe the United CRJ CPA contract is up this year. With that said, it could get extended or terminated. If terminated, the CRJ side will likely not have an IAD base any longer.

It's the regional airlines. The place could be turned upside down by the time you'd make it on the line.
