And now you are an FO for the better part of the next decade.
My QoL at PSA is fantastic....that's right, fantastic. I am only a mid level FO. I choose my own schedule and I credit 90+ hours a month with 16+ days off. If I wanted to I could do 18-19 days off right around guarantee or 11 days off with 130+ hours credit.
My QoL starts and ends with time off, and then money, in that order. Scheduling is not able to touch my awarded days off.....EVER.
Just about a year ago PSA was applauded throughout the regionals for finally getting a pretty good contract after 5+ years of negotiating.
Now we have "one of the worst contracts out there"????? Our recent TA changed TWO ITEMS in our contract: Pay caps, and a bump in insurance costs. That's all. The insurance increase will cost me 32 dollars a year.
I guarantee I will make more at our(PSA's) 4 year FO cap of 41/hr than you will at your 8 year cap of 44 or 47. O, and I'll have more days off and every holiday/family event/birthday party/night of drinking with friends off than you. Which holidays did you work in 2013? Because I worked none of them.
Did you forget to read the scheduling section of our contract?
Tell me again what makes PSA a "3rd tier regional".
None of this is an excuse to vote in concessions as we would have had all that good stuff without receiving the 12/4 caps but you people are always telling us how "You read our contract it's terrible" when in reality you don't know what you are talking about and hate on PSA because everyone tells you to hate PSA, or GoJet, or whoever.

I said I can make more money than you, and have more time off. And that, to me, is the very definition of QoL.
Humor me though and tell me why your contract is vastly superior to ours. I guess I only have 1/4th of a brain.
Start with "rolled days off" please.

Well first of all nowhere in any of my posts on this thread did I say that Our contract was better than XJT's.

The majority of our QOL issues aren't a contract issue. United has decided to not care about our QOL and that means XJT management won't care as much. But at the end of the day, all of our pilots still have to get their 401K defined contributions. If we lose our medical, well it's not all as bad as it could be for us. I can assure you that if we'd voted yes to our TA, our QOL would be not be better. It would've made it much worse in far more cases than it being better.
I have no problem with the content of your contract. What my concern was your pilot group's decision that now affects us all. Eagle is having a harder time now because of that vote. It set the precedence of taking concessions for airplanes. Our TA's content was influenced by that vote too.

So our pay is about the same.....what else makes your contract so much better than ours?
It looks like your pay rate at 2.5 years would be 39 for the bigger airplane. That's 126 hours per month. How many days off are you getting for that credit?

It was never about waving. You took the least important and easiest part of my post to fire back at me.
It was about making a career decision. Someone entering this industry right now would be foolish not to try Mesa, PSA, or Compass. Why on god's green earth should someone brand new to 121 go to XJT, or Skywest and have ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE at upgrading for probably 8 years, if ever, considering your mostly 50 seat fleet.
So YOU will respect him? Gimme me a break. Feeding his kids while living comfortably and actually contributing to his retirement is more important.
I voted no to PSA's TA. Not so other pilots would respect me, I don't care what you think about me. I voted no because it was WRONG for the new AAG to beat down an already battered section of the industry all while making record profits with over 10B in cash on hand.
Your respect means nothing to me. It once did, even as our vote was taking place. Now however, after seeing all the hate, and derisiveness that has been spewed by all of you your respect is irrelevant.

Chasing an upgrade at a 3rd tier regional will only prove to management that we care nothing about working conditions and only upgrade time.
I hope for the industry's sake, PSA will be unable to fill classes and be forced to improve their contract.
I'm a new 121 pilot who chose xjt not based on upgrade time, new planes, or signing bonus. All I wanted was industry leading QOL. LXJTs contract gave me that.
By joining XJT you guaranteed yourself industry leading stagnation on FO pay. Your colleagues at Compass, PSA, and Mesa will be quickly advancing up the FO list, having better control of their schedule, and then will upgrade years earlier.

XJT was a fantastic place for me to be when Age 65 dropped the hammer on movement in the industry. But in this current environment I wouldn't recommend XJT to any new 121 pilot.
