A good general rule of thumb is to not work somewhere you can't look your industry peers in the eyes without feeling shameful. So that ought to rule out PSA and GoJet, among others.

Not sure if you were being tongue in cheek but you make a good point and I'd like a chance to respond. Everything I said is truth. Yes, I'm a bit bitter. No, I have not always been like this, nor am I always like this. Only when talking about work. This is what 23 months of reserve at this place since the merger has done to me. Also... THIS ^^^^^ cracks me up! Guess what? As a reserve captain, I get to fly with all the introvert, reject, asocial, obnoxious, arrogant, over reaching, entitled, mouth breather FOs. I love how some people think it takes the left seat for the weirdos to really show their colors. Newsflash folks: those captains everyone hates to fly with...they weren't BORN captains (though most of them will tell you with a straight face that they marched from their mother's womb with four stripes on their shoulder and scrambled eggs hanging from their hat). At one point they were FOs no one liked to fly with! Put THAT in your pipe and smoke it!

An even better rule of thumb is that no one....NO ONE acts like they do on this forum in person. Probably because of the chance they would be punched in the face.

I have no problem looking every single one of my industry peers in the eyes, and smiling or waving and saying hello. Guess what happens......They all smile or say hello back.

This forum is a cesspool. People shouldn't take career advice from members who would post insulting, hateful, condescending, and mostly untrue rhetoric. That is the reason I chime in when I do, so people can hear facts, not hate.

So very true. If I had listened to people on this forum I wouldn't have gone to colgan in 2007. Growth and upgrades are the most important aspects of a regional for your long term career.

The debate on internet vs. "real life" persona aside, you do realize that's just another way of saying "I do what's best for me and screw the rest of you/greater good," right? So we can expect no whining from you if Eagle passes their TA and leaves us at XJT twisting in the wind?

Just because somebody waves doesn't mean they respect you. Most regional pilots do not respect the actions of PSA and the damage they have done to the industry.

It was never about waving. You took the least important and easiest part of my post to fire back at me.

It was about making a career decision. Someone entering this industry right now would be foolish not to try Mesa, PSA, or Compass. Why on god's green earth should someone brand new to 121 go to XJT, or Skywest and have ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE at upgrading for probably 8 years, if ever, considering your mostly 50 seat fleet.

So YOU will respect him? Gimme me a break. Feeding his kids while living comfortably and actually contributing to his retirement is more important.

I voted no to PSA's TA. Not so other pilots would respect me, I don't care what you think about me. I voted no because it was WRONG for the new AAG to beat down an already battered section of the industry all while making record profits with over 10B in cash on hand.

Your respect means nothing to me. It once did, even as our vote was taking place. Now however, after seeing all the hate, and derisiveness that has been spewed by all of you your respect is irrelevant.

I apologize if this looks like me calling you out personally. By You I meant regional pilots in general.
