Anyway... I hear the 717's are not as efficient as previously expected.. that was the reason for the all the new cities Delta put them in. Also hear that 9E is imploding.. (the EtoD thing not working out like Delta planned) and that we have been asked if we can take extra (200) block hours.

Delta isn't giving the 717s to a regional. Think of the money they have spent training all those guys, paying them to sit around waiting for aircraft to transfer over from WN. And now you really think they are going to hand them over and get rid of a fleet type they like and utilize a lot, retrain all the pilots again on new aircraft, hand over parts and everything else. Sorry to crush any dreams but if you want to fly a 717, get hired at Delta.

Any new city pairings the ASA guys will be seeing is due to 9E imploding. They are losing 50 pilots a month and will be transferring 50 seaters to another DCI carrier.

Delta just opened an NYC base for the 717 to staff for summer 2015 flying. Along with building up ATL and maybe DTW. That's in writing for anyone with a DLnet account to see. Hardly writing on the wall that Delta is getting rid of the airframe.

Yeah but wait...XJT management and Delta Chief Pilots and Delta Line Check Airmen say otherwise!!....the 717 isn't working out, I've heard it!!....I know I'm right...I just know I'm right about this one...

Let me help you understand how this works:

First of all, Wynncore was kidding.
Second, none of us flying for a regional with less than 15 years seniority want to see bigger aircraft at the regionals.
Finally, almost all of us who really want to fly the 717, myself included, want to do it at Delta Air Lines (there may be a few HAL guys) on the DAL seniority list for DAL pay rates. We all have applications in at DAL, some for longer than we have been at our current job, do everything we can think of to get a call, and still have a silent phone.
Anybody who has taken the "717 at a regional" comment seriously has missed the sarcasm in the associated post.

Greatest post on APC ever!! I literally laughed for about 45 seconds straight after reading this! ATLCSIP is correct as he always is, I was kidding. I agree CSIP, no 717's at any regional!!
