I love it how every LINE PILOT who gets on here saying "The 717 isn't working out for Delta" seems to think they know it all. I won't get mired in details, but Delta KNEW exactly what it would cost to get these 717's on line and knew TO THE DIME what it would cost to fly them. An airline like Delta (or any carrier) does not blindly invest in a new fleet type without knowing the potential costs. They made over $1B pre tax and over $700M post tax in the second quarter alone...do you think they really care what the 717 is costing them? I'm so amazed at what people say...

Meanwhile, L-ASA will likely experience growth at the detriment of 9E, which really sucks for every 9E pilot. I hate it for the 9E pilots and I hate the way Delta has treated you all...shameful and ruthless they are.

It's a shame they used up all their omnipotence on the 717 and didn't save any for the 9E operation.

I wish I had a buck for every "Big Announcement coming soon" post I've seen on the Interwebs.

I'm about as connected as a line pilot can get, and I rarely hear a Big Announcement more than a day or two before it comes out. I will go on the record saying if you hear a Big Announcement is coming on a date that's more than a week away, it's complete, utter, BS.

Same for Comair. Delta has made so much money that keeping an operation afloat like OH would have been no problem whatsoever, even with their "cost structure." Delta Air Lines is just like the extremely wealthy person/couple/family that will buy a $3.8M house on 3 acres of manicured land with CASH, but then tell the landscaping crew that they cannot afford the $2500/month landscaping fee and if they want their business they'll do it for $800/month.

All of the animosity towards DAL that 9E has is not only warranted but well deserved. The only reason it hasn't happened to ASA is because we aren't wholly owned.

Here is my Predictions for the announcement. 1. We are going to start flying the 717's for delta due to poor Performance on their part.
2. Delta has baught us (ASA)back and is going to merge us Into a B scale, which of corse includes the 717's for us to fly.
3. ASA has made a deal with Emirates and we become a stand alone airline where delta sales us the 717's. 4. Expressjet announces a better web tool to list for delta flights and going by date of hire for Priority seating on non rev.

None of those will happen, not a chance.

I do find it interesting that ASA egos cause them to tell Delta pilots what's going on at Delta.

As if ASA management (who, by the way, aren't a part of DAL, not wholly-owned) actually would be given proprietary info about the performance of DAL aircraft on DAL routes. Laughable.

It's almost like 9E-ATL all over again. Loved the dirty looks in the terminal from you ASA folks
