Captain so-and-so: "So, is Expressjet the most expensive regional for United"
United rep: "Oh no, XJT is probably one of the cheapest"

I think you meant to say one, not ones.
I'll tell you how they do it. Best pay in the industry, great QoL, and a very good contract.

True.
It really sucks.
And somehow the real crap regionals have managed to staff. It’s not like the crap places are canceling flights. They made it through the ‘shortage’ just fine.
And they are taking flying away from all the decent places.
At least some regionals have a real flow through. I have no idea how the ones with only a guaranteed interview are staffing, but they are.
It sucks. Go anywhere and get an Airbus or 737 type. Maybe if that place isn’t a career destination, it will provide the experience for a place that is.
Don’t waste more time (unless you are very close to retirement.). Bail.
You will be glad you did.

If you think a guaranteed interview is worth a wet fart, I can’t fix you.
And best pay in what industry? Saying “we have the best B scale” makes you happy, well.... Roll with that.

Interesting opening to the CRJ MEC call in.
Chip and Wade Steel invited the MEC chairmen (ERJ and CRJ), to dinner. It seems SkyWest has finally realized that they need pilots and are exploring positive options to stop the bleeding and increase attractiveness of ExpressJet.
Something about a barn door and a horse comes to mind.
CRJ MEC chairman- “Some of our competitors underbid contracts and their alligator mouths outran their hummingbird rear ends."
