I am listening to the pilot conference call and I can't believe people are still asking about our future...people asking why to stay at ASA (XJT) and we are still getting the same answers we were getting three or four years ago.
"...still working on a career progression program with Delta...nothing to announce now...but still working at it..."
"...Going to GoJets now would be a risk"...REALLY? Staying at ASA is a HUGE RISK!!
People...listen UP!!! If you are not at the upper 20% of the seniority list it's time to move on...NOW, even if it's to ENVOY, PSA, GoJets, whatever...Time to go!!! If you are in your 20s, 30s, or even early forties, you could go to Envoy tomorrow, be at American in four years, and have between 20 and 40 years at a legacy depending on your age. Logging more CRJ time at ASA is doing no good to you any more. Starting over sucks, but it's better to start now, on your own terms...instead of waiting until you get displaced or furloughed.
Do the math: 1300 pilots - 400 pilots = 900 pilots. Where will you fall on that list by December. OPEN YOUR EYES!!!

I know..I totally get it, but at some point it becomes too obvious. They said today that we are the mos expensive regional. Guess what...we are about to become even more. When we reach the 900 pilot mark, Every single captain is going to be at 17 to 18 year pay (with most at 18), and most FOs at their max pay as well...when have we seen that before? COMAIR!! We are next, I am really sorry to say this, but we are. Time to go...

I realize we are in a precarious position right now, and I also realize I am a habitually "half glass full" kind of guy, but I believe the call was overall positive. Don't get me wrong, I still have multiple apps out, but none at any regional. Times are tough, but I don't think the sky is falling, and I don't think our junior captain will be an 18 year guy at the end of the year.

I'm off to G7 as a direct entry CA. $15,000 in bonuses and I kept all 6+ years of longevity for pay. That's $81/hr at G7 CA pay. It's a risk, but much less than staying at ASA/XJT.
Good luck everybody.

It's really sad to see what has happened here over the past 6+ years.

You poor thing. G7 must have really upset you given all the bad mouthing that you do about them on this forum. You might want to double check your own morals with that ATP.
The dude is going to double his pay and get tpic time. Also, he will be getting away from a company that will be close to closing its doors. At 6 years at L-asa, he might be back in the fo reserve area when all the planes are parked this year depending on how many on the bottom bail.
