Pre-Covid, I had more time off at Atlas. I’ve also jumpseated many times with United/Delta pilots that take months off as well. Without that pension, there is very little reason to come to FedEx. Pass a contract without the pension and lower pay rates and let’s see what happens.
I hate to break it to you, but the reality is most new hires are pretty young these days, at the legacies at least. They couldn’t care less about a 20+ year out of date A plan. There’s a major lack of reasons to join FedEx these days unless we can tie up an industry leading contract. I’d like to say looking at you management, but in all reality, we’re looking at you FDX ALPA. Cut the $hlt. Open the stuff back up that matters, scope and scheduling! If they won’t pay us, that’s their own death sentence when it comes to hiring pilots again.

Pretty sure they have night override pay also. When is most of our flying, oh thats right night. Puts their hourly rate even that much higher than ours. FUPM

I beg to differ sir. Perhaps the younger generation as a whole isn’t interested in an A plan. But the younger folks I have flown with have all stated the A plan as one of their top reasons for being here. The other is vacation. Our vacation, while good, is not some outlier in the industry. Other outfits have decent vacation as well.

Lip service by a new CEO. Also, if they wanted a deal done they'd engage the union, not post a video on the internet. Headlines and videos buy AA management time.

From the last APA update three days ago:

"Your Negotiating Committee spent last week in DFW, conducting bargaining sessions and meetings with management negotiators and subject matter experts. Discussions included an acknowledgement of the ratified Delta Air Lines agreement and focused on a mutual desire to complete Section 6 negotiations in an expeditious manner".

"We will remain engaged in uninterrupted and disciplined negotiations with management throughout the month. We are encouraged by management’s responsiveness to bring their subject matter experts and decision makers to the bargaining table and are ever thankful for the long list of APA volunteer SMEs at the ready to support us".

"There is still work to be done on both sides, but the path forward is headed in the right direction"
